Steve Bucci is the President of the Money Management International Financial Education Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, he was President of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern New England, a non-profit organization serving Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Mr. Bucci was the founder of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Rhode Island, which he organized in the wake of the 1991 Rhode Island banking and credit union crisis.
While at CCCS–RI, Mr. Bucci founded and became the Managing Director of the University of Rhode Island Center for Personal Financial Education. The Center is a joint venture with the University of Rhode Island to raise the level of financial literacy through innovative mass education programs and research. Mr. Bucci is a nationally syndicated columnist, writing the Debt Adviser column for Bankrate.com, which is distributed by Scripps Howard News Service.
Mr. Bucci currently serves as a member of the Search and Nominating Committee for the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and as a peer reviewer for the Council on Accreditation (COA). He is on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island Better Business Bureau and the University of Rhode Island Center for Personal Financial Education. He has also served on the Board of Directors and as Secretary and Treasurer for the NFCC, and as Chair of the National Financial Literacy Committee, as well as a member of the Finance and Audit, Strategic Planning and Executive Committees.
Mr. Bucci received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Rhode Island at Kingston.
