Continuing to carry out its mission to educate persons on sound financial skills, Money Management International Financial Education Foundation (MMI Foundation) has partnered with Crown Financial Ministries. Crown’s goal is to teach 300 million people worldwide how to effectively handle their material resources by September 15, 2015.
“We feel that Americans today are in slavery to their finances, and in particular, their debt,” said Crown Southwest District Director John Riley. “With consumer debt in the United States exceeding one trillion dollars, our task could not be any more critical for our nation and our world.”
An MMI Foundation grant will help Crown fund their Southwest District budget, where Crown is dedicated to helping to educate 400,000 Hispanic people in the southwestern United States through their Spanish language financial teaching materials. Crown’s five-part teaching solutions consist of small group studies, daylong seminars, video based teaching programs, one-on-one budget coaching and studies for children.
Crown serves their local communities through the recruitment, training and development of 10 local teams, each tasked with the service of 40 churches and their surrounding communities. Each of those churches/communities will teach 250 people, with each area responsible for a total of 100,000 people.
Funded as an extension to the education and counseling Money Management International (www.moneymanagement.org) provides, the MMI Financial Education Foundation exists to educate the general public on building sound personal financial skills by supporting programs that teach those skills and principles.
